Gmail Paper

April 1st, 2007 Posted in Internet and Technology

Google started beta version of Gmail paper. Users will be able to request a paper copy of email and it will be delivered via post office. Photo attachments will also be printed and all of these will be done at no cost. There will be ads on the back of your paper email to offset postage cost.

Google says they are doing this to bring back the use of stamps, filing cabinets, and the mailman.  But wait, I thought the idea of email revolutionized to omit the use of stamps, filing cabinets, and the mailman. if you can log onto the net and access your Gmail, why can’t you print it off by yourself or just read it so you don’t need to print it off. If you don’t have a printer and want to print various forms(such as tax forms), Gmail paper will be helpful. Also, I am not sure how Google can maintain all these costs if users start to email and print all their digital photos – because there is no limit of how many you can print. Just like other Google products, Gmail paper seems to be quiet unique and first of its kind. Let’s wait and see how it goes.
