May 21st, 2007 Posted in Canada and BeyondRecently I was asked by CRA to provide some documents. This is regarding my 2006 tax return, which I submitted electronically. In the letter CRA mentioned a fax number which I can use or the other option they gave was to contact them via regular mail. I tried their fax number for three days but I had no luck. It kept ringing and never worked. I even tried at midnight but no luck either. Finally I gave up and put everything in the mail. This is just another example of CRA’s poor customer service. If you ever try to get through their customer service phone line, you would know how hard it is to talk to a live person. I don’t understand why CRA is not still equipped with technology to accept scanned documents via email.
