Project ADJ Redesign

A Team of Professionals
I have found out that three programmers and one designer are working on Project Redesign. However, I have access to only one person. This is the guy I am constantly in touch. Yesterday, I reached home from work (downtown Toronto) at 6.00. I spent hours with my contact (on the phone and via email) discussing different issues of transforming my site.
New Challenges and New Solutions
Until now, I have used Squarespace platform for A Dawn Journal. Programmers initially tried to install new ADJ design on Squarespace platform. That’s where the problem arose. Squarespace is not a regular hosting company; they are a blog service that includes hosting. The way Squarespace is setup – there are very few options for customizing the appearance. Programmers suggested that it is time to switch over to WordPress. 99% of professional bloggers use WordPress, and it provides ridiculously
flexible options to do anything on the site. WordPress software is free; I only need to buy a hosting plan (which is a lot cheaper than Squarespace), and then need to install it into WordPress.
There Is a Personal Finance Lesson Everywhere
After discussing with my contact, I called GoDaddy.com to buy a hosting plan. I already have an account with them because adawnjournal.com domain name is through Go Daddy. I did all my homework online before calling them. They were offering a 15% discount, but that did not stop me asking for more. Here is a tip – always ask for a discount; you can even ask on an item which is on sale. Guess what happened next? Only because I asked, and made that phone call, Go Daddy gave me an additional 10% discount.
It will be a new challenge for me to start working on a very new platform. I love trying new things, and I am sure this will be a wonderful learning journey. I will keep you guys updated with everything. Thanks for reading.
