Recent Global Financial Meltdown
September 21st, 2008 Posted in Current Events
People who know me personally, and people who don’t know me personally but know that I write on financial topics, are asking me these days about my thoughts on recent market turmoil. Also, some of the too curious ones could not help but asking what cheap stocks I am gobbling up these days.
I am not writing today to give you some insights on this meltdown. However, I will mention some articles I found on the web – which explained it very well. One article seems to be looking at this from a very different perspective. And if you are interested in knowing what stocks I am selling or buying, my answer is – I am not selling or buying anything. I am not worried about this crisis, I am not doing anything extra-ordinary, and I am not gobbling up anything either. I invest every month in five/six index funds automatically (I explained in Invest Now how to do it) and this will not change regardless what direction markets follow. Read the following articles starting with the I wrote on August 7 first – and you will understand why I am not worried about everything, and instead of pulling all my hair – I am living a normal life.
How To Ride Out Market Volatility
Diamond and Kashyap on the Recent Financial Upheavals (Freakonomics Blog)
What Next for Financial Capitalism (The Economist)
Global Financial Meltdown (Global Research)
Staying the Course in Challenging Markets
These should be good enough. I am almost done preparing the interview with international best-selling author Ernie Zelinski. Expect to see it in a week or so.
