New Website Experiment

As mentioned in my previous post, I finally asked my web hosting company to shut down www.adawn.net. It may still be live for sometime but adawn.net domain will not be renewed after its expiration date. One thing I did not feel good about this is that I will be losing lots of redirected traffic to ADJ from adawn.net, as adawn.net is always on the first page for these keywords search: Canada, personal finance. How to solve this problem? The answer is – by creating a similar web site.

My new experimental “Canada Personal Finance Website” was created a few days ago and is now live. The purpose of this new site is to experiment how long it takes for this site to get on Google Search Results first page, and/or what kind of traffic it gets. To make it an optimal search engine friendly site, I picked domain name using my targeted keywords such as: Canada, personal finance, website.

Postings on this new site will be infrequent. However, you can still expect quality writings, as you have  experienced on ADJ. I will spend minimal time writing and maintaining this new site. ADJ has been and will be always my main site. ADJ is where you should be stopping by on a regular basis. However, if you have some time, I encourage you to take a peek at Canada Personal Finance Website once in a while.

NB – I decided to keep adawn.net active.

You should have used a 301 redirect to preserve your rankings. No need to throw that all away!

I thought of it; however, I wanted to start a brand new domain with my targeted keywords in it.
