Toronto Braces Its First Big Snowfall of The Season

Toronto is bracing for its first big snowfall of the season today. Shot these two video clips hours ago on Danforth Avenue & Birchmount Road and Birchmount Rd & St Clair Ave E. in Toronto, Canada, while waiting for bus. Taken with HTC Panache.

Canada’s Personal Finance Website -  presents Toronto 2009 Christmas Window Decorations at The Hudson’s Bay video clip. The worlds oldest chartered trading company, Canada’s oldest corporation, North Americas 2nd oldest corporation The Hudson’s Bay Company’s The Bay Department Store downtown Toronto location is situated on the corner of Queen Street and Yonge Street right in front of The Toronto Eaton Centre Shopping Mall. Like every year, this year The Bays Christmas window decorations are spectacular and attracting lots of visitors. I am presenting this video clip for ADJ readers who are not able to view this unique presentation of nostalgic and sentimental artistic animations of Christmas themes. Since 1914, The Bay has held Christmas window decorations to share and celebrate the Holiday season and Christmas spirit. There are five windows this year displaying Santa Claus and his elves, Christmas trees, families, small towns, and so on. I hope you enjoy this clip and wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Toronto’s new sky-blue, all-glass, 51 storeys skyscraper is situated in the heart of Toronto downtown, in Toronto’s financial district at the corner of Bay and Adelaide streets. The Bay Adelaide West Tower (1.1 million square foot – 715 ft / 218 m tall) is the first building of the of the 2.6 million square foot Bay Adelaide project. Construction started in summer 2006 and expected to be completed in 2009. This tall tower is located at 333 Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Bay Adelaide West Tower has many state-of-the-art safety features including blast resistant lower 11 floors.

Silver Elvis appears at the Toronto Eaton Centre, Toronto, Canada almost regularly.
Here is a clip of Silver Elvis, an Elvis Presley impersonator, wearing silver outfit and makeup.  I shot this clip on my MoviePix MP5A4 HD Digital Video Camera last week for for A Dawn Journal readers who do not live in Toronto.

Watch A View From My Balcony Non-HD

I have been contemplating buying an HD Camcorder for sometime. However, I was procrastinating because I wanted to buy a Flip UltraHD and it was not yet available in Canada. A couple of days ago I found out that Walmart Canada was selling the Flip UltraHD Digital Camcorder, and I decided to visit Walmart to buy one. As I was about to buy the Flip UltraHD an associate walked up to me and asked why would I want pay double just for a brand name.  He showed me a MoviePix MP5A4 HD cam which cost $127 (Flip UltraHD costs about $270) and had more features than Flip UltraHD. He also said that he tried it himself and he is convinced that it was a better deal at half the cost of a Flip cam. He sounded very convincing and I decided to give it a try.

After coming home (that was Saturday), I spent couple of hours learning various features and trying to get acquainted with my new cam. Today (Sunday), I shot my first clip – and the picture quality is just outstanding. I am pleased with this camera, especially its price. I am going to post a clip for you, and I will post a link to a similar video clip I shot before with a regular video camera. You will be able to see the difference yourself.

I will be using my new HD cam at the Toronto Reference Library in The Spring 2009 Toronto Small Press Book Fair. And from now on, expect to see more video clips capturing interesting stuff as I see them through my eyes.

MoviePix MP5A4 HD 720P Video Camcorder Review

The crowds of shoppers are noticeably thin at Toronto Eaton Centre Mall in downtown Toronto. After-Christmas deals aren’t able to draw typical crowds to malls this year in face of economic uncertainty.

Toronto just had a significant snowfall, and here is a new clip that I shot this morning. A view from my balcony was shot at 8.40 AM. Go train clip was shot at 8.33 AM

The Swarovski 2008 Crystal Wish Christmas Tree

Like every year, this year The Swarovski 2008 Crystal Wish Christmas Tree Unveiling ceremony took place on November 20, 2008 in The Toronto Eaton Centre Shopping Mall. I was able to do before and after video shot of this magnificent crystal Christmas tree. The Christmas tree is setup on a revolving stage and illuminated by spotlights shining from all sides. Enjoy.
